THE SEQUENCE QUESTION IN THE GOLF SWING. THEN THERE'S THE MATTER OF TIME....AND TALENT. EITHER YOU HAVE IT OR YOU DON'T.

THE SEQUENCE QUESTION IN THE GOLF SWING. THEN THERE'S THE MATTER OF TIME....AND TALENT. EITHER YOU HAVE IT OR YOU DON'T

FORT PIERCE, Florida - As simple and un-technical the OVER THE TOP GOLF® swing is, even it has a certain sequence which must be adhered to in order to achieve success. These days there are many swing analysis people who can tell you exactly what is out of whack in your own particular swing. There are a few things, however, that an analysis of a proper swing sequence fail to address such as timing, hand and arm positions, distance you set up from the ball and tempo. Many of my readers are aware that there are five set-up changes that make up the OVER THE TOP GOLF® swing and that they are built upon your own foundation, so to speak. The experts advice is to start out with a neutral grip, to set up with shoulders, hips and feet facing exactly perpendicular to the target, knees slightly bent with the body assuming what looks like a sitting position, to allow the arms to hang freely, to take the club back in a straight path and then to re-route it so the shaft is close to parallel to the ground at the top, to pause and then to begin the downswing with the hips, allowing the club face to approach the ball from an inside-out path while transferring the body weight from the right side to the left, employing a delayed hitting motion known as a lag to create power then to finish on your left side in a balanced position.

If you can do all of those things plus many more that I am forgetting which you've been told that you must remember to achieve a proper swing sequence in the traditional PGA-style golf swing then you are probably close to scratch and have no need for my OVER THE TOP GOLF® instructional eBook. You've already got a room full of golf trophies and have even come close to qualifying for some professional  tournament or tour. Your golf life began at around the age of six or seven and the number of lessons you've taken is well beyond the number of years you've walked this earth.

For the rest of us, however, including myself, learning the traditional golf swing and possessing the ability to consistently hit a golf ball long and straight never happened and never will because of two very important limiting factors - time and talent. Not only are golf lessons expensive, the practice necessary to keep all of those swing thoughts in your head makes having a job and a career practically impossible. Then there's talent. What separates PGA Tour golfers from the best amateur golfers in the world is the same thing that separates most of us from the best of the amateurs-talent. All the lessons and all the practice in the world can't replace that God-given asset that very few of us were given. So, to put myself and others on somewhat of a level playing field, I created the great OVER THE TOP GOLF® swing. No, I'm not ready for the PGA Tour nor, given the time to practice and play, would I be a scratch golfer. But I'm now consistently longer, straighter and, most importantly, more confident. You can be too.
